IUPUC African American Fund Scholarship

The African American Fund of Bartholomew County (AAFBC), in conjunction with IUPUC, has created a scholarship fund that will provide a student with $1000 per year for four years to attend IUPUC. The criteria for the scholarship includes:

  • The student must be African American.
  • The student must be an incoming freshman at IUPUC.

The first scholarship was awarded in June 2019, then each year another scholarship will be added so that in the fall of 2022 there will be four African American Fund Scholarship recipients on the IUPUC campus.

I am pleased that the African American Fund of Bartholomew County and Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) are partnering to establish a program to provide financial and advisory support to African American students who attend IUPUC. The goal of the program is to help reduce the financial barrier for college attendance and to encourage local students to pursue and earn a college degree where they can receive both financial and non-financial support. This program will benefit the student, IUPUC and the community.
